Look What Was In The Bag!

Last post I showed you a bag that had some goodies in it and today I'm going to focus on one of them.  Remember that little bit of greenery sticking out?  Here it is!!!  Will you look at it, it's fantastic.

This tree measures 18 inches or almost 46cm tall.  That's amazing and it's great quality too.

I've worked with many different qualities of trees and greenery over the years so when I find a good one....I get excited.  You don't have to have the best quality to have your Christmas decorations look stunning but I was quite shocked at what I found, at the dollar store no less!

First thing I noticed when I picked this little tree up was the great quality of the branches and needles.  You can see that it is a shiny paper material.  It's not plastic!  The gage of the wire in each branch (gage is the thickness of the wire) is perfect for bending which makes for a very lovely long lasting and more realistic tree.  There are two different colours of green on each branch along with a butterscotch colour (same material as needles) at the base of the needles.

As I mentioned before there are several different qualities of greenery out there and this is just an example of one.  Every year companies come out with new greenery and each year it gets more realistic looking than   the last.  I can't believe how much has changed from when I started over 25 years ago.  Just when you think you've seen the best....it gets better.

I'm not complaining here as I am thrilled with my purchase but I have a question.  If it's a dollar store, why was this tree $2.00?  LOL  Just askin!

My next post will show (step by step) how to "fluff" a tree.  Fluff is the word we used for preparing the tree to be decorated.  From this point forward I will be using the word "fluff" as in "fluffing" a tree, garland or wreath.

Wherever you are in your day, I hope you're enjoying it!
Wishing you many wonderful creations
